Who is Herbs for Horses?

Herbs for horses (tm) a division of SELECTED BIOPRODUCTS INC. North America's leading supplier of natural, no-filler, scientifically proven human grade herbal and nutritional supplements for horses and canines.

Why Natural Horse Care?

The impetus for starting this company was our love of the horse combined with our research experience in Animal Nutrition at the University of Guelph.

We have consistently sought to improve both ourselves and the quality of supplements available in the market by raising the standards of the industry. To this end, we were the first supplement manufacturer to certify under the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP (Food Safety) protocols. For the consumer, this means you can buy our products secure in the knowledge that our ingredients and methods are of the highest standards and that we avoid the use of fillers so common in many products. Not only does this give you better value for your money, but it also ensures a predictable response.

We hope you will take the time to contact us with any questions, concerns, or comments about the product.

So I have got a case of the Mondays today. Usually it is my favourite day of the week because the rest of the team is in the office and I have meeting with them throughout the day but today was a different story.  They all semm to be too busy and when I harfed at them they just told me to lay down. BORING!! I kept asking them to have meetings outside with me but they just kept letting me out and in and out and in until they just ignored me. I decided that I am going to go to the farm tonight to make sure that all of the horses are in line ant that their "hors d'oeuvres" are fresh.

So I spent some time at the farm last might and observed the horses from the fense line. They looked like they were behaving themselves. The two cat families (the Kittonios and the Squeekeazies) that rule Cottonwood Stables were feuding last night. When it was all done Mynn-mynn "the Blade" Kittonio decided that the battle loss was to be taken out on me.  I don't know why they always pick on me. Why can't we all just get along? All I want to do is pet them and kiss them but they kiss me back with thier claws. Sheesh! Itis buy today at the office. I am making sure that everyone is doind what they are supposed to be doing and opening and closing the door when i harf. I got a wee bit upset when I thought my work associate was going to tkae me for a walk when instead we ended up in the back of the parking lot with a bucket of water, soap and scrub brush... We'll as awful as it was I have to say that I do smell much better and I feel less grimy. The day is almost done and there is still no sun!

Introduction

EGUS is recognized as a significant health concern in mature and immature horses.  It is most common among performance horses, with an incidence as high as 100% (Bell et al., 2007).  Clinical presentation of EGUS varies and is dependent on location and severity of ulcers. Signs may include poor body condition, retained hair-coat, reduced appetite, mild colic and compromised athletic performance (Bell et al., 2007). Clinical signs in foals may also include diarrhea, suppressed growth rate, grinding of teeth, a pot-bellied appearance, interrupted nursing and excessive salivation (Borrow 1993).

Research

Ancient medicine withstands the test of modern science

“Because it’s always been used for that...” doesn’t cut it for Guelph-based Selected Bioproducts Inc. This manufacturer of medicinal herbal products for horses was the first to put objective science behind their equine herbal products more than a decade ago. And to this day they remain the only equine herbal products company in Canada to build a product line based on 3rd party research into efficacy and safety. Their flagship product ‘Mobility’ was the first to be tested.
